Join us on a field trip to investigate 'natural energy sources' around Canberra. This is being held as a part of Engineering Week celebrations.

Topic: "Sustainable Development in Australia’s National Capital: Results from Online Forum Participation" Speaker: Nigel Martin, School of Accounting and Business Information Systems ANU College of Business and Economics Bios: Following 22 years in various engineering and managerial roles in the international oil industry and federal government (Defence and National Security Projects and Science Research), Nigel Martin recommenced a rewarding and challenging academic career at the Australian National University in 2007. As an employee of the Department of Defence, Nigel was awarded the Dr Allan Hawke Inaugural Secretary of Defence Scholarship in 2003 allowing full-time PhD study for one year (valued at $95,000). Nigel has a broad spectrum of professional, research and teaching interests ranging from information systems and technology research through to the practice and theory surrounding strategic management, corporate strategy, and sustainable development. Also, Nigel was formerly a teaching staff member at the Queensland University of Technology (early 1990s) and the University of Canberra (2004-2006). He rededicated himself to the field of higher education by graduating with the Graduate Certificate in Higher Education (ANU) in late 2009.
